Go to google.com. Type in your phone #. If it's a listed # your name & addy shows up. Don't think I like that...

At least Google gives you the option to remove it. I know if you use Yahoo's people search it even gives you a map to the most people's house.

Yeek! There's a map to my house, with my house marked with a star!

It's too darn accurate for my taste...

I just did a search for my phone number and nothing. It is a listed phone number though. One thing that you can specify with your phone company is to not list your home address with your phone number. You should try this, type in your real name into google, yahoo, msn search engines to see what you can get. I do that on a fairly regular basis, other than the ocasional competition or school project that I am involved in nothing appears. Thats not the case two years ago when my name and phone number showed up on msn search, one email was all it took to get it removed though.

yes that is one of the grate features of computers, I have found people I knew many years ago, and got ther address and even there neighbors too.

but nobody can find me, I am not listed anywhere, on anything,
I am a total secret, infact I don't even exist, I am a void, and I live in a black hole.

just wish I could get rid of all this spam e-mail I get all the time

I believe this should only work for those listed in the phone book (I'm talking about hardcopy).

Even if you removed it from Google, there are still many other reverse directories where it is listed.

I honestly don't care. I am in the phone book, so if people want to find me, they will find me. I am also on the web in many place, in forums like these, I used to be in the paper...I can't hide from the world at this point, so there is no use in trying.

Because I do some work with customer databases, I find the ability to do a reverse lookup pretty darn useful many times.

I wish you could enter your name and get your phone number instead of the other way around.

You can, if you enter the name, the city, and the state, separated by commas.

Probably doesn't work for Mexico, however.

It is a tad old. Numbers and addresses I have long since left behind still show up. So, any one looking to pick a fight with me will have to wait until big brother finds me again. ;)

Respectfully,

Demosthenes
