The Ring...

I just watched The Ring and it was lame...

but the ending...I dont get it...DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why didnt she die? Are they gonna keep showing it to other people to spare there own lives? Something like that?

I agree, the plot was so full of holes it was laughable. Her body deteriorated down in the well, so why didn't she die? No logical reason...
I think the key to the end was if you copy the tape, you live. That is why she was having her son copy it. The boyfriend didn't copy it.

Maybe the original version was better....

I think you do have to show it to someone so that you wont die... At least that was my take on it...

no no no you watch the english, that one sucks the japanese is scary, and the reason she didnt die is because the only way you can survive is making a copy. the girl wanted everyone to know what happened to her and have pity and share it.

I preferred the original "Ringu" to the Dreamworks remake, "The Ring". But I did watch "Ringu" first. A friend of mine watched "The Ring" first and said she preferred that movie to "Ringu"...she thought "Ringu" was sort of slow.

Anyone interested in learning more about the "Ringu" series of movies can check out these websites:

Ringworld

Ringu Fan

The Mandiapple site seems to be down right now.

i think the thing was that the girl coming out of the TV was a ghost, or something, and the japanese one is so much scarier, i think its the japanese girls eyes, they looked so much scarier than the girl in the 2003 version, and sadakos mother aswell, she had the scariest face ever, with that big joker smile and mental look on her face, :shudders:

wuts up with the face scribbling and the distortion of the faces for pictures and cameras? i don't know, i think the movie was pretty good when considering some of the movies being made nowadays, but there were so many holes in the story as someone said.

Here's some trivia...

"Ringu" cost $1.2 million to make.

"The Ring" cost $45 million to make.

Looks like the Mandiapple / Snowblood Apple website is back up now. Check it out, they list a bunch of Asian Horror movie titles that might interest some of you.

This is what always blown my mind...

"The Blair Witch Project" had a production budget of of $75,000.00, and they used every bit of it.

What did they do with the other 65,000??
