Good God, I think we fried all the moisture here in Vegas! 111 degrees and 4% humidity....
And tomorrow it's supposed to hit 117. Thank God I work in an air conditioned building. I used to drive all over town cleaning windows in a mini- pickup truck with no a/c.

I just had to spend the day trecking all over NYC.
No dead bodies, but lots of *temp-out of it* types. It doesn't bother the Red-Shouldered Hawks, they can cut down on the pigeon population any time. Parks for the people (!) and also the birds. |

Pam... what does a Red-Shouldered Hawk have to do with high temps?
and what is a *temp-out of it* type? |

Hahaha, that was my compulsive thought for three years after I got out of the Navy with my Southern California experiences. All the dirt and rocks, the summer heat, oh, the gods, the heat... no trees, not like Cali, no birds but sparrows and those stupid pidgeons.
It's simply because my family is here. That reigns supreme, both my family of origin and my children. So my heart is in sunny Las Vegas. Thank God for air conditioning! |

It's an amazing fact in this city but really warm summer days bring out a lot of hooky playing office workers ( don't tell anyone but the 2 hour lunch is alive and well ) thus the nick name that's been spreading around town.
The pigeon problem in mid-town is being solved by a licensed falconer and his red-shouldered hawks. They're an amazing site in Bryant Park on 42nd ST ( it's the one behind the library and it has free Wi-Fi ) this summer. The birds don't seem to mind the heat. |
