"The Best Song In the World"
I was listening to Tenacious D's "Tribute to the Best Song in the World", and I got wondering....
...what do you think is the best, or one of the best, songs in the world?

Lee Greenwood - Proud to be an American - Pretty timeless...Lots of people still think its a good song today, I hear it on 99.9 all the time.
Not that new crappy version by the pop stars either, only the original!

If you've ever heard a good pianist perform "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin, it is amazing!
As far as modern music goes, I would have to say American Pie is pretty timeless. |

I think the best song in the world is "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. Amazing Guitar Solo. Amazing Lyrics. Perfection.

not an addict
Breathe it in and breathe it out and pass it on, it's almost out We're so creative, so much more we're high above but on the floor It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive If you don't have it you're on the other side The deeper you stick it in your vein the deeper the thoughts, there's no more pain I'm in heaven, I'm a god I'm everywhere, I feel so hot It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive If you don't have it you're on the other side I'm not an addict (maybe that's a lie) It's over now, I'm cold, alone I'm just a person on my own Nothing means a thing to me (nothing means a thing to me) It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive If you don't have it you're on the other side I'm not an addict (maybe that's a lie) Free me, leave me watch me as I'm going down Free me, see me look at me, I'm falling and I'm falling... It is not a habit, it is cool I feel alive I feel... It's not a habit, it's cool I feel alive If you don't have it you're on the other side I'm not an addict (maybe that's a Lie) I'm not an addict... Sarah & Gert Bettens Band K's choice Album Paradise In Me Year 1996 That is the best song, closely followed by calling all freaks. Whiskey in a jar is cool too.... |

anything by Revis or trapt, but then you gotta go for the oldies like styx or boston. i would have to agree with nuclear krusader and say that the all time best song has not been written yet. i like songs that have deep meanings and really get you thinking, or ones that you would sit there and say "hey, i think that too"

whoa Blakhart, is K's choice well known around there? they're flemish(like me)
and they're not really that well know around here.(not an addict was a hit off course) . the band members could walk trough town without being recognized by the public (apart from sarah bettens) . Seems like several flemish bands have this i heard Praga Khan and Lords of acid (although thats not 'really' normal music) are pretty famous in the US of A too while they hardly ever do festivals or shows around here. btw my choice : bob marley, three little birds and jammin. wonderful when you're feeling down or on a really hot summer day cruisin in the convertible (like here right now )

revis
revis is exactly like trapt in their alternative style. the thing that sets them apart is the lead singer's voice. check out their website. they have a controller in the top center that allows you to listen to their music. they had a song on the daredevil soundtrack called "caught in the rain". other good ones include "Your Wall," "Spin," and "Straight Label Jacket." In my personal opinion, it is one of those cd's that all of the songs are excellent. the same is true of trapt as well as a band called trust company. all unheard of bands but have a good sound if you are into some of the modern rock. otherwise, you will probably hate it. but seriously, you should really check them out, they are a good band.

A friend and I have a joke that In the End by Linkin Park is the best song ever ... but not seriously.
What about the most popular song? |

Best song? Too many good ones out there from too many different eras for too many different moods. Maybe if the question was best song by a particular band or best love song, protest song etc. I could think of an answer. Karnevil9 may even be among them
