How many forum users does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5 to flame the spell checkers

3 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"
... another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

4 post padders who post nothing in particular...only to increase their total post count

2 post padders who post to "call out" the post padding of the other post padders ahead of them

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

1 to request "pics" of the bulb being changed

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

1 to post what his wife suggests in regards to the light bulb change

5 people to say "***, why do you even need a light bulb! I have my computer monitor for that"

36 to dog out the user who posted his wife's suggestion

2 to defend the user who posted his wife's suggestion

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

1 post that gets deleted by board moderators and gets one forum user banned

10 posts by users asking why the one user was banned

1 post informing the board to "PM" them for the recap of the banning

5 posts requesting the user be reinstated

2 posts by board moderators informing the board that the user was never banned in the first place

1 post by previously "banned" forum user to explain that he just typed his password incorrectly and in fact, wasn't banned...

13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

One to change the lightbulb and ten to suggest how to buy a new house to fit the lightbulb.

One to change the lightbulb and ten to brag about how their lightbulb is brighter.

One to change and five to sternly warn about the dangers of buying cheap, low-quality lightbulbs.

One to change and Bill Gates to give permission to use the new lightbulb.

One to change and one moderator to warn about lightbulbz piracy.

One to change and five to find the latest patch for the security hole in the lighbulb.

One to change and five to say that buying a lighbulb is madness as you can get perfectly good freeware lightbulbs.

No-one know how to change a lightbulb - strange silence - then member moves to another forum.

The light bulb would never get changed, as someone would post the following> I am thinking about changing a burnt out light bulb and I am wondering which is better, GE or Phillips.
This in turn would start a discussion from the other forum members with posts like> I heard them Phillips bulbs run really hot and unless you have a couple of fans running on them they don't work well, I use them GE bulbs all you have to do is screw them in> Then after a few dozen more post the discussion would breakdown to> I would use Phillips bulbs, but you got to use them on one of those lampcraft fixtures which have those lousy Square D Switches in them, I only Use GE Bulbs in jinuwine GE Light Fixtures.
In the mean time the original poster has given up wanting to replace his light bulb and is using Compaq candles which the salesman down at Circuit City told him was the latest and greatest thing to hit the market.

Post Lightbulb

This is a story about four people who needed a lightbulb changed.

Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was this important job to be done a lightbulb needed to be changed urgently and everybody was asked to do it.
Everybody was sure that somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was everybody's job. Everybody thought that anybody could do it, but nobody realized that everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that everybody blamed somebody when actually nobody asked anybody to change the lightbulb

LOL!! homer15, I really like your first link!! Besides obviously being written by someone from OSHA and is ridiculous on overkill, it has a glaring omission: it forgets to tell you to install a new or working light bulb!!
