Because they are taking the users of services like Grokster to court for using Grokster in an illegal fashion. It's a lot easier to bully around users than the organizations that produces applications like Grokster.

The makers of Grokster aren't exactly doing anything wrong, because such programs have legal uses as well, but there is no doubt that those who download music illegally are doing something wrong.

its wrong what the music industry is doing also makeing a 12 year old girl pay $2000. Her family can't afford to go out and buy 17.99 cd's.

I saw that commercial on tv all the background people of movies say that movie pirating is affecting there income. Thats not whats affecting there income its paying people like arnold $30 million to make a movie thats just him. And thats just him those other charectors salery was also in the millions.

Is it really neccesary to make singers actors unbeleivably rich I understand they should get money but do they after to be made multi millionaires. That girl has to pay $2000 for downloading a song Micheal Jackson is wasting his money on zebras and vodooo doctors I'm serious he spends his money on crazy stuff.

On top of that music industry blames file shareing for low sales maybe they didn't notice the economy is down. Ounce they get rid of file shareing they plan on starting there own site and charge high prices to download music. Yet another bill for americans to add a month. All these industries take advantage of people here we are paying highest price for everything here prescriptions my prescription would be $1000 a month if I didn't have insurance. Then internet dsl is $34 in korea and japan its $20 for 10mbs broadband. Something has to be done to these companies takeing advantage of americans.

Long response but everything some how related

Not all artists are aligned with the RIAA. If you really want to hurt their profits, check out the artists you like to see if they are joined with them. If they are, don't buy. If they aren't, then by all means buy the album. Indie music sales will increase, major label sales will decrease.

As for the child not being able to affor $17.99 cds, they spent $30 a month for Kazaa. I'm sure her mom could have bought the CDs and shut down Kazaa if money was the issue.
