new egg problem

just had my first problem with new egg.ordered xp home with sp1a,just got one disk but figured the sp1a was on it,started install,it went good until a screen came up to insert the sp1a disk.i didn't have one so i thought ide just cancel and set up without, wouldn't go that route,so i contacted newegg, they advised they were not responsable and could do nothing, told me to contact MS.did that Ms said they could sell me a disk but were not responsable for my getting wrong order.went back to newegg, same story.told him what i thought of it and hung up.called newegg back, got a nice young lady who promptly gave me an rma and all is well (if i get my sp1a)
by the way the os was and upgrade,it wasn't listed that way but it was.

raftero,
I've bought quite a few XP Pro cd's (with SP1) from Mwave and I've always gotten just one disk. I thought SP1 was on the install disk so I don't know why you're having that problem.

MS said some had SP1 on the disk and some didn't depending on when they were mfg. it went through the install programs etc got to install (windows i think) and this popup comes to insert SP1 disk, when i cancelled that thinking i could just bypass it and continue it said unable to proceed insert sp1 disk.then when i cancelled that it said error asp or something missing and shut down.maybe the os cd was bad,at least they finally agreed to RMA the thing hopefully the next one will work.i can live with the big things but little #$%^&%$ tares me up just my nature i guess.
