Question cell phone batteries

has anyone ever heard of batteries from cell phones leaking battery acid? don't know if mine is or not, but i have felt quick but painful shocks when my cell phone is in my pocket, and i now have small burns on my leg where my cell phone is in my pocket. didn't know if anyone had heard of this, or if they are just unrelated coincidences

not sure on that but they are not supposed to leak at all, if it does you can take it back and get a new phone and some compensation for your injurys

sounds like a good lawsute to me

might be, but i think i induced the problem. i had it in my pocket while riding the power tower at cedar point, and upon reaching the highest point, i floated out of my seat and the cell phone hit the bar the holds you in. i heard it crack a bit. no physical damage though, so i did not think anything of it. started happening within hours after that. so i don't know if i can take it back.

I would still try to take it back and ask for compensation for your injurys, its worth a try even if they say no.

yeah, unfortunately the customer service at the local retailer isn't that great. my only luck would be at the national store. and besides that, i have had the phone for over a year, so i think warranties are out. might give it a whirl though.

thanks

Get a replacement battery and see if the phone still works. Hopefully the battery chemicals haven't leaked into the phone.

well, that is a good option flanzig. just one question though. somebody told me that the vibrating capability depended on the battery. is this true, or is it the phone. i would really like a new phone though, so i think i will just buy one. it is finally a good excuse to do something i have wanted to do since i got this POS. the phone also just shuts off at random while i am talking, but that has been happening since before "the incident." thanks for the advice

vibration depends, some phones offer that as a standard feature, in others it is based on teh battery. Vibrating batteries are more expensive than the standard types and phones that include the vibration are more expensive than those that do not.

alright, i will try swapping batteries with my moms phone which does not have vibrating capabilities and see if it still works. if that is the case, then i will just buy a new battery maybe, but i need to have the ability to vibrate when i am in school and what not.

thanks
