I want a better Avatar

Ok, im cheeky - ive only been on this forum for a few days but i intend to stay and whilst my choice between the UN or US logo is better than none i would really love for my own avatar

I see other veteran users with avatars and am assuming either they are moderators, users who have posted on the forum for a long time or there is some sort of milestone ... or is it a bung under the counter sort of thing

????

Thanks for any replies

You need 1024 posts to get a custom avatar, and posts in General Discussion forum don't count.

Yes. The number of posts is associated with the bit number rank. Check the FAQs or do a forum search as this has been address many times.

Let us all gather 'round and read from the Holy Book.

Today's reading comes from the Book of Dok, chapter 6, verses 42 thru 45:

It is ordained that upon leaving the unenlightened masses and placing your first scribed words at the Church of the Mech, the initiate will be allowed to select one of the two available markings to show that he (or she) is initiated into the faithful.

As you move along in life and reach the 750th step on the path to true enlightment, you may then change your mark to that of "graduate".

While this mark shows dedication to the way, you will not be evaluated by the number of steps, but rather the quality of the steps made.

And finally, after a long arduous journey, you will leave the wastelands and emerge a changed person, when you reach the inner circle of 1024, then you may select the image you wish for your avatar (as long as it is the right size, shape etc), proving your true worth to those who view your scribings.

Here is the word of Dok.

All this and more can be viewed and learned by clicking in the upper right series of buttons, marked FAQ.

To you my son, I urge you to read, lest you transgress and blaspheme and incur the wrath of the one we call Dok.

Said "hats", but for those with pointy heads, they will need pointy hats to keep warm! I was inferring more toward wizard-wear.

Are you dissing the twine?

Note: I have never actually seen the twine ball, nor do I have plans to. I think I will survive.

The twine reference was used by the late, great Johnny Cash long before Weird Al. As I remember the lyrics:

I keep my pants up with a piece of twine,
I keep my arms wide open all the time,
So if you're mine, please pull the twine!
