this has nothing to do with computers so i figured that general descusion would be appropriate. does anyone know where i can get some mase? not pepper spray but actual mase, if its legal to have it that is. if not then a good place to get pepper spray would suffice. thanx for any help!

I am certain you can do a search on Google and find it easily. I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon sold it too. As far as a store you can walk in, you might want to try those stores that sell weapons and stuff.

gander mountain sells pepper spray to be used on bears, and man that stuff hurts just spraying it, even if it is not pointed at you. my neighbor had me pick her up some because she walks late at night, and dogs attacked her. she loves it, the dogs don't, but they are getting smart.

Hello,

Mace is a chemical. You'll spray some guy that is attempting to rob you, you'll damage one of his eyes (possibly), he'll sue you, and have a good chance of winning. Pepper spray (oleoresin capsicum) is basically fruit juice. i would recommend OC over mace. Neither of these compounds work 100% of the time. I've used OC a few times, some folks will wipe their eyes off, laugh, & keep coming.

If your state allows either of these to be carried, you can find them at any law enforcement store, or many times at a large sporting goods store.
Personal protection is also a state of mind. You cannot rely on a can of spray, what if it fails? Chances are it will not though. If it does, you have to have the mindset of "I will not lose." If some criminal walks up and pulls a knife on you, he doesn't care if you have a family etc, he just wants your money or car or whatever. Train your mind to not lose no matter what if this situation happens. Try to avoid areas and situations that may cause something like this to happen.

Yeah it does work for a manager I had was also a cop, and one day he needed to go to the station house to pick up a new can, but as a prerequiset they all had to get sprayed at least once. He said after getting sprayed he was washing his face for damn near an hour.

Mace (commonly CS or CN) is typicaly available at police supply stores. The pepper spray is more effective, and reduces the chance you may asphixiate someone. If I remember correctly, CS will turn into a toxic gas when burned, like cyanide. CS is also persistent, in that when you spray it, it settles to the ground and then will be stirred up whenever anyone walks over it. CS has no effect on animals that I have seen. Pepper does. Both will relieve sinus congestion nicely.
If you get sprayed with either, you won't forget it...
