My guess is that they just watched 'Bad Santa' before they banned his letter.

That's just terrible. Can you imagine being the parent of a 4 year old child who wants to write to Santa and having to tell him, "Sorry, you can't do that anymore. The government said so"?

As for the links provided by mbossman, I'm glad to see that the USPS does give letters to charitable organizations so they can help out at the holiday times.

"While Santa himself receives most of the letters..."? Is that in case some little kid some how navigates himself to the USPS website?
