Format-Fonts

When i submit a thread or a post and i would like to underline something or some text make it Bold, how are these actions done? Whenever i try to change the font of say a word and turn it Bold a separate window pops up, then what? I would like to turn say a word into Bold text at the position it has in a paragraph. Or underline. How am i going to do it? Also the Smilies, it seems that a Smiley can only be inserted at the end of a post or thread. Is that the case or i can insert them at any position in a text?

Thanks,
Star-Com.

When you are typing your post and want to make something bold, click the B in "vB Code" and type in the text that you want to be BOLD in the box that pops-up, and then click OK and whatever you typed in the pop-up box will be bold. It can be as much or as little of your text as you want. The same works for underlining and italicizing text.

Also, there's a little "help" link beside the header "vB Code" that explains everything very well.

the symbols are as follows
bold= [ B ] your text here [ /B] italics= [ i ] your text here [ /i ] underline= [ U ] your text here [ /U ] link= [ URL ] web address here [ /URL ]
link that shows up as what ever you want it to say= [ URL=web address ] text that you want to be shown [ /URL ]

( i put a space between the brackets and the letter inside the brackes so that you can actually see the code, however when you actually do this you dont leave a space there)

smileys can be put anywhere in your post. if you want to see the codes for anything than you can go to post reply so that you get a whole screen for writing your post, instead of a little box at the bottom. then you can clik on whatever you want and the code will be inserted so that you can see it it the big box where your message is typed.

It would be much easier to just highlight a part of text and press on the B or I or U tabs etc and produce the format you want. I have seen this in other site, i think it should be applied here to make life easier.

Quoted from the vB Code Help file :

You can make text bold, underlined or italicized by simply surrounding your text with tags as shown below:

some text produces some text
some text produces some text
some text produces some text

Q. Suppose i wrote some text and then i decide to, say, make some word Bold. How do i do that? I mean without having to type the tags before or after the word.

Thanks.

We can't do anything about the limitations of vBulletin code. Sorry, it's out of our control.

If you make a mistake, you can go back and edit your post.
