the intel partner program is people who are "in" the computer industry anyway, most probably already know of the idea of building your own computer...don't know if that makes a big difference or not....or I maybe completely wrong
I don't think you'd ever see intel disseminating that info to the general populus....

maybe its a bit of reverse psychology on intel's part...if you make it seem like you need a $1000 cpu to build a pc, then nobody will do it...

Of course they do. I am thinking that Dell, who probably buys millions of chips a year, has a lot more purchasing power than say Newegg or somebody else that sells maybe a hundred thousand processors annually to individuals. Intel can then charge Newegg more than they can charge Dell.

I think it's most likely an attempt to get more into the home-built market.
I mean if they recomended an AMD CPU for anything, I'd be amazed.L J
