Public high school. graduating this year. I went to private k-8, and while my opinion is only based on a single case, I really feel the quality of education was lacking compared to area public institutions. I had some excellent teachers, but some incredible duds and well, and some missed oppurtunities that you can only get a larger schools.

Public, lots of homework in honors classes, but because there are so many kids (2000 in school, and roughly 400 in my class)
There's also a lot of competition. I'm going to miss High School when I graduate. Sadly I don't get to graduate in the District and High School that I've attended for 11yrs of my schooling career. |

I started out at Junipero Serra High School, the school the famous Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants went to. It's a private school associated with the Catholic religion. I transferred to a different public school and was failing so now I go to a public school that is almost like private in that there's only four kids to a classroom.

Obviously, as you can attest, they were successful. While home schooling became legal, the number of home schooled students still remains fairly small, especially when you compare it with the total number of students educated from the 50's up to and including today (that should cover just about everybody here). |

Public school in one of the worst school systems in the country. It's a wonder I can even read.

The quality of public schools varies quite a bit. My high school, Redlands High School, is I'm told one of the best in this state. And I think for the most part, public schools are adequate. But there are inevitably going to be some duds.
