For 25 dollars, I could use the case, gut it and install some PC hardware. Take pictures and list it on a website and get thousands of Death threats from Mac fans.

Actually, for $25 I would have taken one. Mac OS X is actually a pretty good OS IMHO.

For $25 I'd love to get one. I'm not a big apple fan, but for most things a Mac is pretty darn similar to a PC. It could always serve as a backup computer in case my two windows and single linux box simultaneously fail. If I never need it as a backup, then I can take it apart for all of the fun stuff inside.
