Question Finding a rare book

Hey guys.

Ive been searching the net top to bottom...Biblio, Google, Ebay, Amazon...Everywhere!

Im looking for a Hardcover/signed copy of Arthur C. Clarke's Sci-Fi classic "Rendezvous with Rama".

I figure if anyone could point me in the right direction to find this book, they would most likely be browsing this forum

Thanks for any and all info.

Hey Avx,

Have you tried eBay?
I've looked around on froogle, but I cannot find a signed version of the book...

Hey Joeberg

Yep, I tried eBay, that was my first stop...been to almost every book site on the net.

I know the paperback version is very easy to find, the hardcover a little harder, but still very easy. Clarke is still alive so it shouldnt be this hard...I wonder if he still does book signings?

I know a guy from college that collected signed books. What he would do was buy a New Book, mail it to the Author, include a prepaid return and then hope for the best. He got several that way.

He gave me an extra from Bill Gates. However, Bill didn't sign that actually book, what he did was sign a label that someone placed in the book.

Byte - I was actually thinking about doing that, but it totally kills my plans for having it by Saturday. Not to mention that Clarke is 86 now, and lives in Sri Lanka, I do believe if I send him a copy of his own book, I'll never see it again.

mbossman2 - Thanks for the locations, I actually forgot about overstock.com. I guess I can just get the hardcover edition and work with it from there.

Thanks guys.

I'd hesitate to go with overstock.com. Their rating on www.resellerratings.com is not good, and I just had a very bad experience with them.

They have all sorts of of books there. If it's worth a lot, you probably will have to pay for it.

If it's out there they can find it.
The cost range from reasonable to extortionate.

It's human kinds first encounter with aliens, atleast thats what Im told. I havn't read it yet myself, but I think I should, it looks really good. Its Sci-Fi, so if your into that genre you'll most likely like it. I,Robot is the #1 best selling Sci-Fi novel of all time so I would look for that too.

Im currently reading:
A+ Certification by Sybex
Worlds Finest by Karl Kesel

By the way...I found a First edition, mint condition, signed copy of Rendezvous with Rama. Its $650 bucks, but atleast I know its out there. The web master at bookbrowse.com pointed me in the right direction, she sent me to addall.com
