Car Paint
Just curious if anyone here knows how car paint is affected by Lard or Hersey Syrup. Would it damage the paint?

I'm guessing that it wouldn't harm it much. The things in liquids that mainly damage paints are proteins and acids/bases, like in eggs, hydrochloric acid, and undiluted lye.
But...... why one earth would you want to know that? |

I heard Oscar Mayer ham works well, the acid in the meat burns it off in about 5 hours.

I'd be concerned with anything like that on today's clear coat finishes.

My advice, find some other way to play a prank. A car is the second most expensive item one owns, besides a house. It's too risky to guarantee the outcome. How would you feel if someone here, that you don't know, gave you bad advice on purpose just to have the prank backfire on you? Don't chance it.

You live in Minnesota, so just do what my friends and I used to do: completely bury the car in snow up to the antenna. Won't damage any paint finishes.
![]() Unfortunately, you are going to have to wait several months for this prank. There's always the wrapping in Saran Wrap or toilet paper prank too. |

You could always fill the car up with packing peanuts then use shrink wrap all the way around the car.

If this is considered for a prank... again.. don't do it... I've worked hard for my car and if anyone touches it, they risk losing their hands permanently.
