Question Can some one please give me an expalnation?

This problem first turned up in my thread entitled "Now What!!?? Why Me????!!". That thread has since been tossed into oblivion. Rather than revive it, I thought I'd make a new thread asking only about this very odd occurance. The odd occurance occurs whenever I open SpeedFan. It seems to somehow change the settings in the monitor itself. As soon as I open the program the monitor goes really dark. Then, after minute, it goes one step darker. I thought at first that the monitor was going dead. That theory was supposedly reinforced when I hooked the monitor up to my other computer and it was still dark. I have since discovered that hitting the recall button (restores factory defaults) in the menu fixes the monitor. I first discovered this by chance, when the monitor was dark and I couldn't see anything on the screen, by randomly pressing buttons. I can repeat the scenario whenever I want. If I open SpeedFan the screen will go dark. Before it goes too dark I go into the menu and hit recall and everything is fine. Can someone please explain how a program on the computer that supposedly has nothing to do with monitors and has never caused trouble before can mess up the settings on my monitor?

Are you running the latest version (4.12)? I saw something on the website about support for Nvidia cards.
