don't worry about the brand, Sapphire is usually cheaper then the ATI, but that Bestbuy deal is real good. Just relieze that you are taxed on the $250, and you have to wait for the rebates. So you will save a few dollars getting it from bestbuy, but not as much as you think. People have had trouble finding that 9800 pro at bestbuy, just to let you know.

It will be compatable, no worries. You may have heard in the past ATI had compatability issues and bad drivers, but that is no longer the case. Go for it!

Go with the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro - no hestiation in that. One's a retail, the other isn't, though it makes little difference, it's still better.

Yea I would suggest to get the ATi retail card from best buy than the sapphire card from newegg also. Thats a good deal.

Make sure it's 256 bit. Double and triple check that one.

I belive that the only 128 bit 9800 pro that was made was by Sapphire, the one at best buy will be 256-bit. However, Sapphire discontinued the 128-bit card they made, and also issued an apology for doing so. The only place that you really have to worry about getting a 128-bit 9800 pro is from places like ebay.

There are no ATI Radeon 9800 Pros with 128-bit buswidth. Sapphire released it initially for a miniscual amount of time, before people started complainint about its being desceptive...I would have too. It's a Radeon 9600XT clocked lower, but with 8 pipelines. Since then, they renamed it the Sapphire Radeon 9800 - non-pro, of course.

Hope that helps,
kram
