nVidia drivers don't play nice with MOBO.

Any opinions on this scenario?
I built a second folding@home computer on the semi cheap using a SOYO SY-P4I865SPE Plug Dragon 2 and a e-ge force2 MX400 videocard. After loading up the nVidia drivers, the computer would become so unstable that it would freeze to a black screen. Yes, I used the latest drivers. I'm thinking it may be that the mobo and video card are real close to being incompatable(weird part is that I deleted the nVidea drivers and went with the default one and is stable).

Instead of the latest set of drivers why not try the oldest ones you can get that will still work with the board and XP ?
You want something from the dawn of the P-4 era.
