xp media player

I have win xp and all updates. A while back media player just quit working. I can double click a media file and nothing happens. I can go to programs>accessories>entertainment and click on media player and nothing happens. It started a good while back, so I can't use sys restore. I don't even know where to begin to fix this problem. Any ideas?
Thanks,
DR

Have you tried reinstalling WMP? You can download the newest version HERE.

Thanks, I dn'ld MP9 and that did the trick. Saved a copy to my backup drive just in case it happens again. BTW, I do keep my system scanned.
Thanks,
DR
