Old Soundblaster AWE64 with ATI TV Tuner Card

Hi, just found this site and it seems very informative. I have a problem. I better break it down into separate sections.

1. I am upgrading an old computer (Quantex - out of business, an interesting story in itself) to Windows XP (running 98SE right now) and the Aureal Vortex soundcard never had an XP driver before THEY went out of business. The XP upgrade software said the soundcard driver needed to be changed, and since there is no XP driver, I went and got another soundcard w/o trying the Aureal. If anyone knows if the Aureal would work in XP, please let me know.

2. So, I got an old Soundblaster AWE64 card off the internet. ISA card, but no problem, this old motherboard has big slots. No drivers included. So I try to download them from driverguide.com. A few problems there, so I went to Creative and got them. However, they never seem to install properly. That might be contributing to my real problem. The soundcard works but only with my DVD player, NOT my ATI TV Tuner. It worked fine with the Aureal Vortex card. I have the short jumper cable just like on the Aureal card. But no tuner sound. Any help is greatly appreciated, as this is my only TV at this time. Is this card incompatible, or is there a way to check whether the drivers are working properly?

About the rest of this system, 196mb Ram, P3 - 500 Mhz, and everything else seems to work fine.

I have same problem, but on my (brother's) Pc the drivers are installed with errors, and after a few minutes the soundcard stops working, especcially when playing MP3

You'd better buy a PCI Soundcard

I don't think ISA slots are supported by XP.
