Need Help With Upgrade
I have a hp pavilion a250n with a Nvidia GeForce 4 mx 440 AGP 8x and want to upgrade the video card so that I can play the latest games. I want to get a Radeon 9800 Pro AGP Graphics Card but I am not sure if it will work with this computer. I am also concerned that it will not fit in the case. When I install the card will it need to be flipped upside down so that the fan is on the botton because that is the only that I could see the card fiiting into the case because the heatsink is in the way. This computer only has a 250watt powersupply. Is that big enough to support the addition of the 9800?

Welcome to PC Mech forums
![]() The ATI Radeon 9800 Pro requires a 300 W PSU and recommends a 350W. You might find it a bit tight to fit it into a 250W proprietary PSU. Chanaces are, you won't be able to replace it either, as the PSU was probably especially made to fit into the HP PC. I would look at something a bit less powerful but good...like the Radeon 9600 Pro. I believe that should work - doesn't require an extra molex connector. kram

And does the 256MB version offer a large performance increase over the 128MB version?
