help with fixed frequency using Voodoo 3 vidio card

I have a Hewlett Packard A1097c, ( sync on green) fixed frequency monitor tring to setup to stand alone computer Pen 3 800 mhz.
O\S win 2000
Voodoo 3000 video card

The problem is when plug in to computer, screen is black with white snowy lines flickrering, as computer boots color lines are vertical about a inch wide & looks like vertical rolling . If i trry F8 at start up screen is black with vertical lines but not rolling. Also have the proper cable to hock up to computor.
Question
Does the voodoo 3 have jumpers to change the frequency to "fixed"?
Is there a way to set timing of Video card to match the monitor?

If any one can shed a light on this ,all input appericated.

Bad news, "fixed frequency" monitors only support one specific resolution and scanrate. The result is that most of the time they will NOT connect to regular pc video cards. There are video cards available that support fixed frequency monitors, however they all use very dated 2D chipsets, so you wouldn't be able to play games. Now you know why that monitor was so cheap If you want to avoid this in the future, you'll have to make sure the monitor is either multisync or multiscan compatible, fixed syncs are more trouble than they're worth. Now there is some (limited) good news. You CAN use that monitor with your current v3, but it will cost the price of at least a sync convertor, and possibly special cables too. One place to find such a sync convertor is here, they tested it for your specific monitor model, but it's an extra 50$ investment. Personally, I'd just dump the monitor and start looking for another, non fixed sync one.

PS don't feel bad about this, I've got 20 years experience, and the reason I know so much about fixed syncs is that I accidentally bought two last week on ebay. Silly me
