overclocking ati 9800 pro to XT

has anyone overclocked this card to XT? or know the process of steps invovled?

You can flash the BIOS to an XT BIOS. I think that's the way most people do it. But, just as flashing a motherboard BIOS, if something goes wrong the card could be useless. Also, you'll need better cooling than the stock GPU cooling. I believe they run pretty hot with that XT BIOS.

If you bios flash a 9800 Pro to XT you will see minimal if any performance gain. The only thing you will see is that your 9800 Pro now shows up as a 9800 XT in the settings. Check www.overclockers.com forum for the thread about this. The 9800 Pro will not gain any of the features of the 9800 XT, all it does is overclock the card which you can do yourself with radclocker. So its pointless to flash it, just overclock it.
