Need a little help with display issue.

A few days ago, I started seeing these grey/black colored lines. Not sure if it is my GeForce DDR card or monitor. I've reinstalled video drivers just to be sure. Any ideas what is causing this?

Thanks,

I don't see any grey/black lines in that screenshot. Where are they appearing?

right to the left (i know, not the best way to describe it) of the PCMECH window

do you have another video card that you could test it with?

I don't have another video card handy, but I could probably get one for a day or two to give it a try.

As for temps, not sure. I'm not sure how to check the temp inside the case etc. I turned it off, opened the case and cleaned it out (very nasty) and the video card didn't seem hot or anything. While cleaning the dust off of it, I noticed the fan on the card didn't turn as freely as I would have expected it to.

Here's another image. Are the lines more visible in this pic. I can hardly tell becuase they all blend together on my screen.

I still see nothing out of the ordinary. I see no odd lines anywhere. HERE is a screenshot from mine. Are the lines only on PCmech?

I thought that was part of his wallpaper photo. That thing isn't in the second screenshot he posted.

I'll try and figure out a way to make it more clear.

Hi Ho,

The problem is constant. I can even see the lines once the PC boots past the BIOS and starts to load windows. The only time I don't see them is when looking at a blank desktop. As soon as a window opens, they appear.

I know it's tough to help diagnose without seeing the problem, but I'll try and a way to capture a sample.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

If you have a digital camera you could try taking a picture of the screen. The fact that I don't see the lines and that you say they are always there tells me that it's a problem with your monitor because they cetainly don't seem to be showing up in the screenshots. Do you have another monitor you could try?

I'm gonna hook up another monitor and see what happens. If the problem persists, I'll get you a digi cam shot to look at.

Thanks for the help.
