9600xt and 1600x1200 native resolution

Well I got my entire system set up, and its amazing, I'm really happy with results. Athlon 64 3200+, 1gb corsair ddr400 RAM, 120gb SATA Maxtor hdd, Asus k8v mobo w/ 800FSB and RAID. I'm confident my system can handle any game right now.

But I'm currently looking at LCD monitors(running on an old CRT right now) and I'm having trouble picking between

and

The Viewsonic has nice everything and a 16ms response time which should limit ghosting, but its native resolution is 1600x1200, thats insanely high, I ususally play games on 1280x1024. I'm not sure of my 9600xt could handle that native resolution, and I don't wanna lower the resolution because i'd have to sacrifice the crisp picture I'm getting an LCD in the first place for.

On the other hand the samsung is smaller, but 12ms response and a native res I run most of my games at.

Opinions?

From a purely practical standpoint, get the Samsung. It costs almost half as much as the Viewsonic AND you will notice no difference in game image quality (assuming you run them at 1280 x 1024.) If the huge screen with the insane 1600 x 1200 resolution is important to you for Windows use, it better be worth that extra few hundred bucks. Otherwise go with the cheaper one. I think both are fine for response time, I'm told anything under 25 ms looks good.
