Help connecting PC to two TVs for display purposes
I have a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro with a dual outs DVI/SVGA and an adapter. I bought a Aten VS-132 Video Splitter which has 2 outs. I also bought 2 Premium Grade HD15 (SVGA) Male to RCA cables. My question is what are the 3 RCA jacks for? There is a Red, Blue and Green RCA Jack.
I also bought the Gigawoks 7.1 speakers with an Audigy 2zs sound card. What is confusing to me is that if 2 of the 3 RCA jacks are for sound and all I am going to listen to is sound from DVD's and the internet or from programs on the computer then do I need to connect the 2 sound RCA cables to the TV since the sound would be played from the computer thru the sound card and then on to the Gigaworks speakers? We will not be watching TV or Cable/Sat. Just using the TV monitors for displaying what is being seen on the computer monitor. Do I need to connect all three RCA jacks and if so where do I connect each color? Thanks |

The three RCA jacks are all for video. It's a component video connection and is used for high defenition signals. In order to use that type of connection you need an HDTV.

I was hoping you would reply to this. Hey thanks. Let me ask you then what adapter should I buy...an svga to s-video? Then I could run an s-vid in a 50' length to both tv's? Just looking for you advice as to how you would do this.
Thanks again |

A VGA to S-Video adapter should work fine. I'm not certain as to how well the video quality will hold up over 50 feet but as long as you have a good quality cable there shouldn't be a problem.
