alien speakers

are these speakers any good? they look nice... I'm looking for speakers that look fancy and they don't have to be extremely good sounding. thanx

Specs look good on em, and are more powerful than the logitech Z340's, and a lower range. I'd give em a shot.

The sub-woofer can be anywhere, the two speakers about 12" to 18" from the side of the monitor. Adjust distance for best sound for you.

Usually the best place for the sub is on the floor in a corner with the satillites on either side of it.

A 2.1 set as 2 satillites and 1 subwoofer; Stereo--just right and left. 5.1 on the other hand, has 5 satillites and one sub, which is a surround sound system.
