radeon 9800 pro

hi there, i recently bought doom3, and i have a rasdeon 9800 pro graphicds card 128mb.

Can somebody please tell me the best way to set up the card to get optimum performance for games like this, as i am currently running doom 3 on medium resolution, as when i adjust it to high i lose gameplay.

many thanks

mike

I guess it mostly depends on the rest of your system...like amount of RAM and CPU. But for the most part, you should be able to run medium resolution High Quality Settings with 2X AA - I'm running it around there and with minimal lag.

You should check to see that you have the latest drivers. I noticed a big increase in gameplay after upgrading the drivers.

Yes, the newer ATI Catalyst 4.9 drivers were optimized just for Doom 3 so that should be a major boost as for performance.

Nope - often times, they're pretty outdated - mine came as Catalyst 4.2 when I bought it a few months ago. Install those drivers, then get the ones from ATI's website.
