PC Mic Woes...

Hi all, having a prob with my desk pc mic. Before my format, i would go to control panel, speech, and would be able to setup my mic through a microphone wizard. Now since i formatted all thats in the speech is some speech recognition thing. I cant setup my mic good enough... its either too low in volume, or i get feedback on my pc speakers. I am using the +20 boost. if i dont use the boost, its not loud enough, and i get feedback.

Any help plz!!

The easiest way to fix it is to turn the speaker volume down.

heh =) well i use a desk mic so all sound comes through the speakers. It was working great before... i would use the mic setup prog in the "speech" part of control panel. but now its gone =( i dunno how i can setup my mic to adjust to my voice...rather than play with the volume control
