1600x1200 resolution?

This is probably a dumb question, but is 1600x1200 resolution supposed to be bigger than the screen size of my monitor? I have a 955df which supports 1600x1200, although when selecting it I have to run my cursor over to the edges of the screen to "move" to another part of the desktop. Its not really convenient for playing games either. I tried to play rollercoaster tycoon 3 on 1600x1200 and it doesnt display the bottom half of the game. Is this normal? Is there any way to make it display the whole desktop?

It sounds a bit like you have some "virtual" desktop software running, which will allow a bigger desktop on a smaller resolution by giving you a means to "scroll" to all parts. It may have to do with the software of your ATI card... In any case, if that monitor is a Samsung, you won't like the "real" 1600x1200 anyway, it's way too small and limited to a flickering 65 hertz refresh rate.
