DVD player won't run
Hi all.
I just formatted my hard disk on my Dell Inspiron 7000 and redownloaded all my programs, but now my DVD player won't work. When I tried it after redownloading it was fine, but after I turned the computer off, the next day it wouldn't run. Here are the other programs I downloaded: Windows 98SE AOL 9.0 optimized Norton Anti-Virus 2003 Ad-Aware SE Personal Spybot - Search & Destroy Yahoo Messenger Windows Media Player 9.0 Linksys Wireless Notebook Adapter Any ideas of what might have caused this would be appreciated. Thanks. |

What do you mean by "won't work" ? Does it recognize DVDs or CDs at all ? Or can't you just not play Video DVDs, but are able to access the contents of the discs ?

I assume you mean INSTALLED. Windows Media Player does not natively play DVD. It uses an installed DVD player for the engine.
If you do not have a DVD player, search www.pricewatch.com and look for one of the vendors. You can find something for about $5 or so.

installed the DVD software that came with the computer, it starts to load, then nothing happens. It does play cd's.
