Hi terra,
Welcome to PC Mechanic !! ![]() Some info would be helpful: What kind of sound card are you running and where are you plugging the mic into? What are you trying to do with the mic? Do you have any recording software (maybe came with the sound card)? TwoRails |

im using an onboard sound card (I think it uses the AC'97 drivers) and the mic plugs into one of my free usb ports that are built onto my motherboard I just want to do basic sound recordings and voice chat with friends. i dont have any recording software (except the microsoft recorder thing that comes with the install...). I hope that doesnt interfere with my being able to use the mic...

have you gone into programs then sound, in there make sure you have your mic picked and not the default.

OK, it's making more sense: it's a USB device. Don't know W2K, but I believe it needs the devices drives to recognize it whereas Win XP would not.
I tried finding the drivers from Labtech's site, only to find out they went out of business! Hopefully someone else has some better news... |
