I am using Windows XP Home with a Pentium 2.8GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. My question is about a problem that I am having with sound. I have an ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard. The ASUS software uses RealTek Sound Manager. I found that in order to set-up the sounds on my computer (just using two R & L desktop speakers), I have to go into the RealTek Sound Manager program, then click on “Connector Sensing”, then hit “Start” and “Information”. The only “active” one that appears is my blue plug (on the rear of my PC). (Please note that I have my speaker plug, plugged into my blue female connector.) When I activate this – low and behold MY SOUNDS WORK. BUT ONLY FOR THAT SESSION!!!! WHEN I SHUT-DOWN MY PC, THEN RESTART, THE SOUNDS ARE GONE!!! I have tried to “save the sound scheme” in the “control panel” “sounds and audio device properties, audio” – but that did not work either!!! My default “sound playback, and sound recording device is: RealTek AC 97 Audio. Please note that I did I try the green plug, but no sounds!!! Then I tried all the other plugs – no sounds – WHEN I RE-STARTED MY PC. On re-start, if I want to hear sounds – I have to repeat the same process (stated above) all over again!!! HOW CAN I GET MY SOUNDS TO “RE-SOUND” WHEN I TURN ON MY PC, OR RE-START MY PC??? PLEASE HELP. |
