Web cam for surveyance, how too?

I wish to use my Intel Pro Web Camera as a surveyance camera to watch my front door while I'm on the computer. Too many times I'm taken away from the computer when the bell rings. It would also be nice for watching the little ones as well.

Is there a way to make the picture/video display always appear, even with mutliple windows open, and be able to have it in a corner instead of in the middle of the screen?

Thank you

That would be more of a function of your viewing software than the camera itself.

BSPlayer has the ability to embed itself underneath the desktop, not sure if it has the ability to view a webcam feed, though.
