XFX 6800 ultra overclocking help
hi i have had this card for some months now.. and im having a bit of trouble
my clocks come as 425Mhz Core / 600mhz ddr (1.2ghz) Memory i want to increase the core and memory some more, but it crash in 3dmark / games if i do? tried a different bios.. and modded bios but still same problem, any ideas? would be grateful thx Last edited by shadow of chaos; 10-19-2004 at 04:21 AM. |

It could be that your PSU isn't providing enough power. 350W may not be enough for a 6800 Ultra...At default speeds, do you have any problems running 3DMark or games?

No, my games run ok at default speed.
my enermax psu is plenty, at least thats what Tin canary said before.. because i have 26 Amps on the 12V rail. Last edited by shadow of chaos; 10-19-2004 at 01:21 PM. |

wow
you got 26a on your 12v rail with a 350 psu? i got a thermaltake 480w its only 18a on its 12v rail ,HEY i checked you do!!i wish i had done MY reasearch better when i was picking my psu,you got da power!!

yea on the +12V rail i have 26Amps thats wut it says on the side of the PSU.. it wasnt cheap, i bought it last year.. so is there anyone out there who can help with my problem.. or is it just the gfx card that wont overclock no more? cos its shipped overclocked alrdy i think

yeah, wattage isn't everything. enermax makes very high quality PSUs. i wish they shipped those with thier cases tho

That PSU isn't providing enough power for overclocking. Monitor your GPU temps carefully, and take a look at what's actually coming out your PSU (these are normally ideal figures). Oh, and, don't bother overclocking such a beautiful card yet.

if it shipped overclocked and You are not watercooling or using another source of cooling besides Factory cooling then you probably will not be able to overclock an overclocked card.

Nope, The 6800GT are Not that good on BENCHMARKING the X800 are the best in BENCHMARKING but, The 6800GT is very good in Quality hammers the X800XT in Quality But Benchmarking Nvidia have stuffed up again. And make sure you have all your drivers installed Corrctly and I reakon you shou;d be getting CORE: 400 and Memory:1.2mb I got these Overclocked MARKS From a Friend Oversea's He lives In America New York.
