You would need to make sure that the card will actually physically fit in the computer...to say that there is actually a socket. Can you be more specific about your sys specs - such as what manufacturer it was made from or whether you built it, model number, etc? If you built your own, a motherboard name would help.

it usually depends on the interface. some video cards are PCI and those will fit into pretty much any motherboard. then you have your AGP and i think the recent boards are all AGP4X or AGP8X and those are backwards compatible and will fit into any recent AGP slot. the newest video card fits into the PCI Express X16 slot and those will only fit into the newest motherboards with the PCI Express interface slots. if you want to know what video card you can purchase in your motherboard, you could download everest home edition at www.lavalys.com it should tell you what motherboard you have under summary.
