Friend has video problem.. help

I am posting for my friend because he can't get ANY video. He was just browsing the internet and suddenly he got the message that said, "No Video Imput" or something along those lines. He's tried different monitors, so its on the computer. I personally think its a video card problem, he used a cruddy PCI one and did some serious gaming with it, so I think it finally gave out. How would we get a new card in there since we are unable to uninstall the old drivers... or any other ideas on what happened? mobo malfunction? virus? Any imput would be appreciated, thanks guys.

Sounds like the problem is the video card. Get a new one, pull out the old one, and install the new one. You don't have to worry about removing the old drivers.

e.n.

you are supposed to. remove the drivers. try reseating the card and see if it works. i doubt gaming would kill a card tho.

well.... try reseating the card. it also might be worth looking into if you have a card of the same brand like ATI with ATI and the models are similar, to try that venue. PCI cards are pretty inexpensive these days and it might be worth getting one to swap
