dvd dilemma
Generally, why won't a computer recognize, read, etc. a dvd created from a video tape to dvd copy? Also any solution would be helpful.

Reason 1: No DVD-ROM drive or DVD-burner installed.
Solution: Get at least a DVD-ROM drive and install it. Reason 2: DVD is in the CD drive instead of the DVD drive. Solution: Put the DVD into the DVD drive. Reason 3: DVD disc is of low quality. Solution: Get a quality DVD disc. Reason 4: DVD drive doesn't like +, or - (whatever the DVD disc is) Sollution: Look for a firmware upgrade to add the capability of reading - or +, get a new DVD-ROM drive, or use the DVD-ROM Booktype on a DVD+R. Do you know of a DVD-ROM drive for the PC that is inexpensive and will read a DVD-R or DVD-RW created from a video to dvd transfer on a Sanyo? I need a starting point in the sea of information.

Every DVD-ROM does. I'd get the Plextor 116A2. It does not belong to the cheapest, but it is still cheap and is a really great drive.
