I would like to record music from an audio cassette deck on to audio CD-R CD's in my burner. If this can be done, can someone tell me how to hook up my equipment to accomplish this?
I have the following equipment:ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe, CPU Intel P4, DDR-400 256MB Kingston PC 3200, CDRW Sony 52X/24X/52X, 350 WATT Enermax Power Supply, WD 120 GB Hard Drive, Video ATI 9800 PRO/120 MB, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value, Windows XP Home. Last edited by PLAZ; 10-25-2004 at 03:46 PM. |

It's pretty simple, but very time consuming. You play the tape in your set top box, routing it's Line Out to your sound card's Line In, and record the tape as it's played. You can record a song at a time, or the whole tape and then chop it up into the songs using Creative's editor. Then you use the burner's software to build and burn the music CD.

I use Microsoft's Plus Digital Media software (19.95 last I saw it) , it's dead simple to use but you have to buy a file converter if you don't want to save the files as WMA's.
the cable you can get at Radio Shack to go from your headphone jack on cassette player to the line in on your sound card. |
