Are you using onboard sound? A PCI sound card? Give us some specs.

A good way to tell is look at the back of your PC. How are the speaker plugs aligned - vertically or horizontally? If your speakers are plugged into the computer vertically (that means one under the other), you have onboard sound. If they are horizantal, that means you have a sound card.

Not necessarily kram - the audio jacks on my mobo are horizontal, and since you have basically the same one, I would assume that yours are too. But yes, that is generally the case.

Another way to tell is check if the audio ports are located on a strip (about 4" long) on the lower half of the pc. In this case it would be a sound card. If the ports are on the upper half on a panel about 2" wide, then its onboard sound.

I guess a thing that I neglected was the orientation of the computer...whether it was layed flat or standing up. But generally speaking, that should be the case.

Go into the Device Manager - is anything flagged?
