Creating a dual monitor system

Question #1

So i want to create a dual monitor system. right now my monitor is pluged into the monitor plug in my motherboard. to crate a dual system would i buy a video card and put it in a pci slot and plug the second monitor into that video card?

Question #2

Or can i buy a dual video card and plug both monitors into that, and i wouldn't use the monitor plug on the motherboard.

The best way is to install 1 dual head video card and install it and disable that onboard video.. Make sure it is a dual svga output card..
