Problem with CD Player

First, I was messing around with my CD drive, trying to get the headphone jack to work. The sound still keeps coming out of my speakers even when my headphones are plugged into the CD drive when i'm trying to listen to an audio CD. It was launching from WMP by the way. So, then I tried the CD player in accessories. There, I found another problem. It is reporting that "Data or on disc loaded" when there clearly is an audio CD in the drive.

So I'm faced with two problems.
1. How do I get the headphone jack on the CD drive to work?
2. Why does CD player think that there is no CD loaded when there is one loaded? And how would i fix this?

Thanks to anyone that replies

i've found out the answers to my own problems. i guess ended wasting forums space...sorry

at least this might help anyone else that has the same problem as me.

anyways heres my solution to my 1st problem.
I ran the sound troubleshooter, and i've found out that in WMP, i have to change my CD drive from Digital to Analog. To do this, i went to tools, options, devices.
And, then I had to go to turn off Digital CD playback in the Device manager.
I went to control panel, device manager, my CD Drive, properties.

sorry again for wasting forum space since i guess i ended finding out the solutions on my own.

again, hopefully this will help someone else
