Hello all
Again, I have another question about media files. My WINAMP program doesn't support CDA files, and I don't know the reason . Though, is there a way to update the program so it can deal with such files? If not, is there a free software to convert CDA files into WAVs? Thanks to all in advance

Dear Smidget
CDA is the extension of the file, just like this: TRACK01.CDA. The file appears like WINAMP files, but its extension is as mentioned. On the other hand, I have some saved WINAMP file with WAV extension, but they are OK. So, can you help me?

if you are just sticking your cd in the drive and copying them to your hd, then taking it out, its not going to work. you should be able to leave the cd in the drive and play them in winamp no problem.
cdex and dbopweramp are both freeware converters that will take the songs on your cd and turn them into mp3 craig

Good Evening
Even when I leave the CD inside, it was not working. However, my problem now has been solved. I dwonloaded dbopweramp yesterday, and I found that CDAs can run with it. So, it is OK now. I woulld thank hobey19 for his good help. Thanks also to all who answered me.

what is the os and version of winamp?
when you stick the cd in, does anything happen at all? if so, what happens. it should work with the cd in, and it should be an easy fix. might as well try to see if it can be fixed. glad to hear parts of it work, tho craig |

By the way, all files work with Widows Media Player, but with bad-quality sound, so I don't use it. Thank you again for your interest. |

alright, my follow up question, which i should have asked previously is, is this a new problem, or has it always been a problem? if its new, i have no idea what would cause it, but if its been ongoing, i would look into enabling dma, and running a cable to the sound card for better performance. we'll try to get this sorted out, as it should be working

The problem is new, but I cann't remember exactly when it started. Any way, There is no problem now, considering that I use dbopweramp which you informed me about it.
Many Thanks |
