TV Tuner Sound Don't Work
Hey everyone. I just got a tv tuner and it works good but can't get the sound to work on it. I plugged the rf cable into the tv tuner to get the video but can't get the sound. I'm using Winfast PVR for the software. and the card is tv leadtek/expert tv2000xp tv/fm r from newegg. I also tried beyond tv 3 and there was also no sound. Any suggestions?
Is there a way that i could use my stereo speakers as computer speakers. I have thme right on my computer desk for my stereo just wondering what i would need and how to set it up. |

If the card included a sound cable connect it to the sound out of the capture card and to the line in of the sound card, then check the setting for audio in windows to see if the sound isn`t mute or too low.

Your TV Tuner will have included a little 1/8" audio patch cable, (headphone style ends). In order for your sound to work, you have to plug one end of this cable into the audio line out on your TV Tuner into the Audio Line-In on your sound card.
Then check the speaker properties in Windows (or whatever operating system you are using) and make sure that the Line-In on your sound card hasn't been muted. One final thing; If your TV tuner didn't come with the cable that I described, then it has an internal connecter. In that case, it will have come with a little three or four pin cable, that goes from the TV tuner, to the Audio-In header on your sound board, or motherboard. |

If it is a 4 pin wire then look to see if there is an Aux Audio in connector on the sound card inside the computer case. Newer CDROMs can use digital sound and not use a cable, I dont think that would work with a TV Card but you would have to read the manual and see what it says.
Usually a sound card has an amplifier and you can control the volume. I think the line out on a TV card may be one set volume and not meant to plug the speakers into. A lot depends on the quality of the TV tuner and card and what kind of output they have. Helps to know what the options of your sound card are and if the TV card has some kind of plug that matches up with it. |
