Mobility Radeon Ati Graphics Card On Laptop Problem
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 1900 laptop with Pentium 4 on XP home 512 MB ram and a 32mb Mobility AGP Radeon ATI graphics card that was working fine until a week or so ago. The problem coincided with my daughter installing and playing the new SIMS 2 game but I am also now using the laptop for my degree studies so it is very frustrating!
The installed driver is version 5.1.2600.0 ati2dvag.dll When i am using internet explorer or even firefox browser I am getting a display driver error with the screen suddenly going into "safe mode" basic resolution and the usual microsoft error report which then results in a log saying there is a problem with the ATI graphics driver etc. I have been onto the ATI website and Toshiba and have not had any luck getting a new driver update. I am assuming the graphics card is on the motherboard within the laptop (rather than a separate graphics card) as i haven't had any experience of laptops. The error seems to occur more when i try to run a sound clip or anything unusual and only when browsing the internet too. Any ideas please on if i can fix this myself or if i need to take it to the local computer shop? Suzanne |

What is your operating system? With those specs, I'm presuming Windows XP (Home? Pro? SP2? SP1?)
