Game Port?
Ok here's the thing,I was messing around cleaning up inside my case.....wrapping wires moveing them around for better airflow, blowing out dust etc. so I've had this sound blaster card for like 3 months now and I moved it down 1 slot to make room for a exhust blower for video card.No biggy but when booted up windows says "found new hardware game port device" and installed it. ,the thing is where did it come from? and most importently whats it for?

The game port was used for joysticks, flight sim yokes. etc., many years ago, before USB.
But it is also a MIDI-port, and can be used for music intruments I believe. That's what the "gameport" is still on soundcards, although it's no longer for game controllers. If you can't see the gameport on the sound card, then you have the SB Audigy. It has an extra plate with the midi connector on it, which you only need to connect to the sound card itself, like this.
