What to use for playing .kar midi music

I usually use Winamp 3 for my music but that program will not play .kar midi files. So I have been using Windows Media Player 9 which tells me that a .kar midi file it is an unrecognized file but gives me the option to try it anyway which I do and I can then play it. The problem is that it prompts me like that for every song. Also, It seems to have a limited capacity in the number of songs you can put into its playlist which is about 55. So what is the best thing to do. Will upgrading Winamp play .kar midi files or should I get a special player for .kar midi files?

If I remember correctly, .kar files are Karaoke files....may be wrong though. Hove you tried playing them with Quicktime? I ran across this with a friend of mine and that is what he used to play Karaoke files.
