Two Sound Cards? (Sort Of)

Okay, well I got a Sound Card and my mobo also has built in sound. Now anyways, after I get my comptuer built, do I have to disable the sound on the motherboard, or will both work? The reason I'm asking is cus there's a couple of things on the mobo (line in for one) that I would like to be able to use, while using the Sound Card for most of my sound output, etc.

Also if you can have 2, would there be any issue of having something line in on the mobo and having that sound go through line out on the sound card?

And one final thing, would there be any problem with having a SPDIF connector from the CD-ROM to the mobo working with the Sound Card?

Thanks.

While you can use two sound cards at the same time you cannot use onboard sound and a sound card at the same time. What sound card are you getting? The sound card should have a line in.

Its and Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, anyways its not that it doesn't have a line in, but that my video caputre cards audio out plugs into a line in, and it would be much easier with the mobo since the line in on my sound card is on an external I/O box.

nope, just 3 line outs and the outs to connect the I/O box. Another thing I could do is to buy another sound card (there's one for under $10 that should do the trick). So that should work?
